Somerset Talks Climate

We’d like to thank George Marshall once again for giving up his time to run our Somerset Talks Climate workshop.

After you, the network, requested our support on the subject of bringing the climate conversation to a wider audience, we were super pleased to hear from many of you how incredibly useful you found the workshop.  Your critical feedback is always important to us, as well as your suggestions and requests for future support that you’d like from Somerset CAN.  If you are not already signed up as a climate action networker, please follow this link

Here are the SLIDES that went with the presentation.

For anyone who wants to recap or was unable to atttend, the RECORDING of the event is here.

The CHAT messages can be seen here.

The workshop was led by George Marshall, founder of Climate Outreach, Europe’s leading specialist in public engagement on climate change. George has 35 years experience across the environmental movement from grassroots community campaign groups to large international organisations. He is a communications advisor to the World Bank, and has designed national level climate communications strategies for Wales, Canada, Colombia and India.

He is the author of two books: Carbon Detox (Hamlyn Gaia 2007 ) on personal lifestyle change and carbon counting, and Don’t Even Think About It: Why Our Brains are Wired to Ignore Climate Change (Bloomsbury 2016) on the psychology of climate communications, which was described by George Monbiot in The Guardian as “the most important book published on climate change in the past few years”.
