Network Development Coordinator Position Available

Somerset CAN is excited to announce that we are recruiting for a Network Development Coordinator.

This is an 18 month self-employed position funded by MCS Charitable Foundation with support from Wessex Water – Recovery Grant Programme to coordinate the development and delivery of the Project in support of Somerset CAN’s mission.

The objectives of the role are:

  • Develop a county wide network of people empowering, advising, catalysing and aggregating actions from the wider community to enable positive and low carbon projects to accelerate in every corner of Somerset
  • Create an interface between local climate action and a green post-covid regeneration by empowering communities to achieve more to address the climate emergency
  • Foster real place-based climate action, covering all aspects of the climate emergency such as housing, transport, lifestyle, nature, green economy but with a focus on renewable energy and energy saving
  • Enable good practice to be shared and highlighted amongst community groups work at a parish, town, district and county level

The currently available budget allocation for the contractor’s fees is £21,300 (excluding VAT). We aim to appoint a contractor who is willing to commit to working an average of between 5 and 8 days per month, over the 18 month duration of the contract.

About you

You are an experienced and confident climate change specialist with in depth knowledge of Somerset, web experience, the ability to network at all levels and excellent communication skills. A self-starter with a knack for creative thinking, a solution seeker with boundless energy (preferably zero carbon).
